3 Steps to Reach That Goal
Updated: Jun 24, 2019
I hope #NOPROCRASTINATION July is going well! I hope the tips have helped you get things done! If you're a busy person like I am, you always have a project or a goal that will take time and planning.
Here's how to get it done in 3 steps!
Phase 1: STRESSED
You know that feeling when it's the due date of something you've been putting off and it still isn't complete? Hopefully, you've begun the project or task, but maybe you haven't. You have that feeling of disappointment and your mind is racing for ways to make the situation better. You're stressed out and if you're like me, you have felt this way before and every time you vow never to be in this situation again.
Hey, everyone! : Break up big tasks into smaller chunks and schedule time to dedicate to the mini project. Be reasonable when setting your schedule and play to how you work to be most successful. Sometimes I find it helpful to plan a few days at a time and then a "catch up" day, in case I found that I need more time to complete this part of the project.
PHASE 2: GETTIN IT DONE
Once you begin to see the task as something you can accomplish, you will knock out it out in no time! Just remember to keep your schedule, but be kind to yourself if you need to be flexible at times. "Catch up" days are a great way to utilize your time and they may help you get ahead of schedule!
What do you do: Keep your due dates and timeline in a place where you will constantly see it. Sometimes, having a vision board with your larger life goal will motivate you. Let your close friends or significant other know what you're working on so they can encourage you along the way and help to celebrate your accomplishments. We tell everyone else "Congrats!", but don't forget to congratulate yourself on a job well done.
Simply, repeat this process until........
Phase 3: COMPLETION!!
Over time, you'll be completing this task bit by bit. You're gonna have a major sense of satisfaction because you didn't procrastinate and now it's complete- on time!!
What do you do: Celebrate your magnificent accomplishment!
Take a trip, go out on the town, buy that new dress... enjoy the moment. The next time you have a project to tackle, you know what works and what doesn't and most importantly, how to
GET IT DONE!
Good luck and keep me posted!
